The interdisciplinary curriculum of the Biomedical Imaging specialisation track covers a broad spectrum of state-of-the-art knowledge in biomedical imaging. Students gain excellent theoretical and practical skills in a wide range of imaging techniques and applications, as well as image analysis. The studies provide students with strong knowledge either in cell biology, anatomy and physiology, nanomedicine or biophysics – depending on the area of imaging specialisation. Students will gain an understanding of the use of multimedia in scientific contexts with an emphasis on excellent academic writing skills, and will work in a highly international biomedical research and learning environment.
Career or after graduation opportunities
Graduates will be equipped with skills that provide them with multiple career options. For instance, they will be able to join the industry in Finland or abroad, or to enter the public sector in various authoritative duties. The programme also provides an excellent opening for postgradute studies. The MSc degree completed in the programme qualifies the graduates for PhD studies in Turku or worldwide.
The Biomedical Imaging track aims to train the future imaging and image analysis experts for the increasing demands of both imaging related basic and medical research as well as imaging core facility personnel.
