An interdisciplinary and integrated university programme at a European level, EMCL+ provides training for international students in the fields of:

  • Neurolinguistics
  • Clinical Linguistics
  • Psycholinguistics

The aim of the EMCL+ programme is to train highly qualified, advanced students around the world who are prepared for research work and PhD programmes in the field of Clinical Linguistics.

The research fields covered in the course of the programme are: language processing, methods and statistics, clinical and cross-linguistic aphasiology, developmental language disorders, neuroimaging, neurological rehabilitation, and language therapy.

Career or after graduation opportunities

EMCL+ offers a joint, full-time interdisciplinary and transnational university programme at a Master's level. It provides integrated training in neurolinguistics and clinical linguistics to prepare students for employment in the academic, R&D and clinical fields. This is achieved by joining forces with academic partners possessing the complementary expertise, and from related disciplines and non-academic partners of the R&D (neurotechnology) and the clinical sector.

The EMCL consortium consists of 3 participating universities:

  • University of Eastern Finland (Joensuu)
  • University of Potsdam
  • University of Groningen
  • University of Groningen is a coordinating body of the EMCL program and is responsible for the overall admission process.

The programme contains an integrated mobility scheme between the three universities mentioned above.
