The Information Technology programme is designed to provide students with an understanding of computation, communication and information processing in the context of our fast-changing society, and to enable its graduates for a successful and life-long career.
The programme provides the required knowledge and skills to join the IT-industry as well as data-driven industries, and to participate in demanding industrial and research projects. It also provides the required background to apply to a doctoral study programme.
Career or after graduation opportunities
Students will obtain the necessary knowledge and experience required in different types of careers within the software industry (e.g., supercomputing, e-health, IT security, formal methods, embedded systems and software engineering), the biotechnology industry (bioinformatics, computer modeling), and in the data analysis industry (machine learning, customer segmentation, data-driven business).
A degree from the master's programme in Information Technology provides career prospects within, e.g.,
● Industry: software and product development, commercial services and possibilities for start-up companies of your own, computational data analytics, modeling and simulation
● Public administration: software and system development, e.g. in administration and health sectors; data analytics for policy making
● Education within universities and colleges
● Research: basic and applied research within universities and industry
