The Master's degree programme of Peace, Mediation and Conflict Research encompasses teaching of the evolution of aggression, escalation of conflicts and wars, as well as mediation, negotiation, and peacebuilding. Studies focus on the consequences of wars on society, and especially on children and women. The programme provides interdisciplinary, in particular psychological and anthropological approaches, to the understanding of human aggression, peace, mediation, and conflict resolution. It aims at exploring mechanisms behind conflicts and wars in interpersonal as well as group and international contexts.

The aim of the programme is to prepare students for professional activity in both interpersonal and international conflict situations, and also for postgraduate studies and independent research work. After graduation, it is possible to apply for doctoral studies at the department.
